– Cloud-Based AI Image Analysis Platform “CarbConnect®” Integrated Application –
– Streamlining Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing with Immediate CLSI-Based SIR Results –

Tokyo, Japan – February 26, 2025 – CarbGeM Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masakazu Nakajima) has launched “ZOI Pro,” a new application integrated with the cloud-based AI image analysis platform “CarbConnect®.” The app automates the measurement of the Zone of Inhibition (ZOI) in disk diffusion tests and simultaneously displays antimicrobial susceptibility results based on the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) guidelines.

“ZOI Pro” automates what was traditionally a manual process using calipers and rulers, thanks to AI image analysis technology. By inputting bacterial and antibiotic names, users can instantly view SIR (Susceptible, Intermediate, Resistant) results based on data from the CLSI’s Performance Standards for Antimicrobial Susceptibility Testing, 34th Edition (2024). This significantly reduces the workload of researchers and medical professionals, contributing to operational efficiency and standardization.

ZOI Pro – Zone of Inhibition – measurement

About ZOI Pro

Development Background:
The measurement of the zone of inhibition is essential for research and diagnostic purposes in antimicrobial susceptibility testing. However, manual measurements are time-consuming and prone to variability depending on the operator. “ZOI Pro” leverages AI image analysis to streamline and standardize this process, enabling researchers to obtain accurate and consistent results.

By integrating with CarbConnect®, all measurement data and images can be securely stored and shared on the cloud. This enables seamless real-time collaboration among researchers and remote teams.
