CarbGeM Inc. announced today the start of a collaborative study with Northwell Health, New York’s largest private health care provider, aiming to improve the accuracy of bacterial infections diagnosis using image recognition AI.
In this study, the diagnostics results of urinary gram stain images by CarbGeM’s image recognition AI will be verified by principal investigator Koichiro Shinozaki, MD, PhD, at the Feinstein Institutes for Medical Research – the research home of Northwell Health — using professional knowledge and skills.
Northwell Health is New York’s largest private employer with more than 77,000 employees, 22 hospitals and more than 830 outpatient facilities. The Feinstein Institutes encompasses 50 research labs, 3,000 clinical research studies and 5,000 researchers and staff and raises the standard of medical innovation through its five institutes of behavioral science, bioelectronic medicine, cancer, health system science, and molecular medicine.
By the fusion of biology and digital technology, CarbGeM aims to apply its uniquely developed AI diagnostic technology to bacterial infection field.
