TOKYO, Japan, May 17, 2023 — CarbGeM Inc. (CEO: Masakazu Nakajima, Headquarters: Tokyo, Japan), a Japan-based startup focused on AI-based diagnostics, today announced that its three products addressing the problem of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) will be presented at the BIO International Convention, June 5-8, 2023, in Boston.

Featured products include the Point-of-Care Gram Staining System, PoCGS, and the AI-based smartphone app, BiTTE, which estimates the bacterial species in a Gram-stained sample. Both products are the result of collaborative research with the National Center for Global Health and Medicine and Kobe University.
In addition, a new thin-film transistor (TFT) image sensor that monitors bacterial growth on agar plates and its applications in clinical testing will be presented.
