CarbGeM Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masakazu Nakajima; hereinafter “CarbGeM”) participated in the international event “Japan Global Health Innovation Dialogue: Harnessing Japanese R&D for Transformative Change”, organized by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and held in Tokyo in August 2025. During the Breakout Session, CarbGeM delivered a spotlight presentation highlighting the company’s initiatives.
This event aimed to deepen cooperation between Japan and the Gates Foundation and to promote sustainable efforts in the field of global health. By leveraging Japan’s scientific and technological strengths and public-private partnerships, the dialogue created an opportunity for discussion and collaboration to address persistent global health challenges in LMICs (Low- and Middle-Income Countries).
One of the sessions, entitled “Diagnostics (EDGE): Innovative diagnostics for global health”, focused on the progress of AI-related research and development in Japan and the potential for cooperation in the global health field. In this session, several academic and corporate participants each delivered spotlight presentations on their businesses, technologies, and products, followed by a panel discussion.
CarbGeM introduced its cutting-edge AI technologies originating from Japan and their potential for global deployment, and contributed to discussions on new models of collaboration in the application of AI to global health.
Through its presentation at this event, CarbGeM showcased Japan’s R&D capabilities and the advantages of its AI technologies to the international community, while accelerating contributions to infectious disease control and improved diagnostic accuracy in LMICs. The company will continue to strengthen collaboration with research institutions and international organizations in Japan and abroad, working toward sustainable solutions for global health.
